Dekelboum Concert Hall, College Park, MD 20742
Main Office: (301) 405-2787
The benefit concert is structured by a nonprofit organization called A Very Taylored Foundation (AVTF). Primarily, the vision of the foundation serves to instill a sense of hope in the minds of youth who have experienced neglect and defeat. AVTF believes that EDUCATION is a catalyst that promotes self-sufficiency and aspirations of being successful within individuals.
Four-Time Grammy Award winning artist Yolanda Adams will headline this fundraiser to help Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, MD expand its cultural exchange program with Marmanet Secondary School which is located in Kenya. Yolanda Adams has been wowing crowds for many years. As of 2009, she has sold over 4.5 million albums (and 8 million worldwide). Her accolades include: 3 Dove Awards, 4 Grammy Awards, 7 NAACP Image Awards, 16 Stellar Awards, 4 Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, 4 BET Best Gospel Awards, and the first ever American Music Award for Contemporary/Inspirational Artist. Perhaps her most crowning achievement was being named Billboard's #1 Gospel Artist of the Decade in December 2009.
Funds raised will help Eleanor Roosevelt High School students and AVTF to fulfill three initiatives: purchase tables and chairs, build an additional bathroom, and provide scholarship opportunities for students at the Marmanet Secondary School in Kenya.
The concert will have two shows at 3:00pm & 7:00pm, respectively.
Tickets can be purchased at website www.yolandaadamsconcert.com
Mistress of Ceremony will be First Lady Ylawnda Peebles of City of Praise Church.
